Staff Communications Professional – The South Dakota Rural Electric Association, Pierre, SD – SDREA is seeking a highly motivated communications professional to join our organization. SDREA is a member services organization representing rural electric cooperatives operating in South Dakota. The successful candidate will assist in the development of content for a monthly magazine with a distribution of 116,000 and will be responsible for producing and disseminating a monthly newsletter to member system managers, directors and employees. He/She will also lead efforts in the development and implementation of social media communications platforms for SDREA and member systems. Helping members to develop grassroots advocacy programs to advocate for rural electric cooperatives before the South Dakota Legislature and Congress will also be an important part of this position. He/she will assist the Director of Communications with established youth programs and in developing messaging for various meetings and conferences. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, knowledge of written communication formats, experience in the use of social media tools, proficiency in the use of communications hardware and software and a proven ability to work well under deadlines. A college degree in mass communications, journalism or a related field with emphasis on written and oral communication is desired. GIS Specialist – Rushmore Electric Power Cooperative, Rapid City, SD – Experience with ESRI software, specifically ArcEditor and ArcCatalog is required. Experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE and/or Milsoft Utility Solutions is desired. Position involves work at the Rapid City office and at remote locations throughout South Dakota. Limited overnight travel may be required. Prospective candidates must have two years documented work experience in the GIS field.
